Visit to HELI Friedberg – vision on autonomous intralogistics
During my recent visit to HELI in Friedberg (Germany) I had the opportunity to sit down with Ellen and Jack Zhu to discuss the future of Intelligent Logistics Systems and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) .
What this visit made particularly clear is that modern logistics automation isn't about individual machines, but about systems thinking within intralogistics . AGVs only function optimally when integrated into a broader warehouse automation architecture , controlled by software, safety logic, and central control.
We discussed, among other things:
- the role of AGVs within autonomous logistics systems
- integration with WMS and control software
- reliability, fail-safe design and scalability
- the difference between classic automation and intelligent intralogistics
This visit confirmed for me that Intelligent Logistics is a strategic discipline, where technology serves processes and people, not the other way around.
